Air Con Recharge

Air Con Recharge

If your car's air conditioning system is blowing warm air, making strange noises, or causing windows to fog up in winter, it's time for an AC service. Air conditioning systems naturally lose about 10% of their refrigerant gas every year, reducing performance and placing extra strain on the engine. We recharge both R134a and newer R1234yf systems.

Vacuum Leak Testing

Before recharging your system, we perform a legal vacuum leak test. If a system has a leak, recharging it will cause the gas to escape into the atmosphere, which is illegal and wastes money. If a leak is detected, we use UV dye to locate the leak, repair the condenser, hose, or evaporator, and test the system before refilling.

R134a & R1234yf Refrigerants

Cars built before 2017 typically use R134a refrigerant gas. Newer vehicles are equipped with R1234yf gas, which is more environmentally friendly. At K66 Motors, we feature dedicated recharge stations for both types of gas, ensuring your vehicle receives the exact refrigerant specified by the manufacturer.

AC Sanitization & Odor Removal

Moisture inside the air conditioning evaporator provides a breeding ground for bacteria, mold, and spores, resulting in musty odors inside the cabin and triggering allergies. Our AC service includes an anti-bacterial cabin sanitizer treatment, injecting a disinfecting mist through the air vents and replacing the cabin pollen filter.

Year-Round Benefits

Air conditioning isn't just for cooling in summer. In winter, the AC acts as a dehumidifier, clearing condensation and demisting your windscreen rapidly. Running the AC occasionally in winter also circulates oil through the compressor seals, keeping them lubricated and preventing gas leaks.
